Tekno by BABY Audio is a drum synthesizer plugin that generates every drum hit from scratch through a complex, non-linear virtual analog circuit — a modern take on the legendary drum machines that defined electronic music, hitting harder and deeper thanks to 21st century upgrades.

Tekno ships with 18 unique drum engines spanning kicks, snares, claps, hats, toms, congas, ride, crash, cowbell, rimshot, block, and a tonal engine. Each voice is its own mini drum synthesizer, built from a combination of analog circuit modeling, FM, and digital synthesis — developed in collaboration with Jatin Chowdhury, one of the leading engineers in analog circuit modeling. Because Tekno is a true synthesizer, it never hits exactly the same way twice, sharing that magical quality with classic analog drum machines. Use the onboard humanize parameters to push this further, adding variation in timbre, velocity, and timing with every hit.

Version 1.1 adds a brand-new creative sequencer built around fast beat generation and optional unpredictability: smart randomization, auto-fill, and quick on/off and velocity controls for instant ideas, plus evolving polyrhythms with variable step lengths, lane speeds, and chance values. Drag and drop any sequence into your DAW as a MIDI file, or trigger Tekno via MIDI input. You can also drag and drop individual drum sounds directly into your DAW, folder, or external sequencer.

Every voice carries its own analog-modeled effects — tape saturation, excitation, and compression — while the master section adds a filter, reverb, and a punchy limiter/clipper combo that glues the kit together. Click the gear icons for deep calibration and circuit-bending options, or hit the dice icons to let Tekno’s smart random algorithm generate new drums with every click. Start from 72 global presets and 1,296 individual voice presets from sound designers like Mr. Bill, Virtual Riot, and Yoad Nevo.
