Native Instruments SuperStarSaw takes one of electronic music’s most recognizable sounds—the stacked sawtooth—and pushes it into more expressive and experimental territory.
Co-created with producer and artist A. G. Cook, SuperStarSaw transforms the often time-consuming process of layering, detuning and automating multiple synth tracks into a single playable instrument. It can move from huge supersaw chords and euphoric harmonies to metallic dissonance, wild glides and controlled chaos.
At the core of SuperStarSaw are two oscillator stacks called Swarms.
Each Swarm contains a fundamental saw wave plus up to 16 additional saw oscillators. You can control pitch, pan and amplitude to create wide detuned stacks, dense chords, unusual clusters and evolving textures.
The Morpher provides an expressive way to move between different sound states in real time.
Use it to reshape timbre, transition between contrasting settings or introduce unexpected variations without relying on complicated automation.
SuperStarSaw includes multiple modulation sources that can be assigned across the instrument. These include an LFO, two envelopes, mod wheel control and Voice Offset controls for adding variation between voices.
