Naturl Audio AL-1

Naturl Audio AL-1 takes a different approach to limiting.

Instead of relying on traditional look-ahead processing and aggressive brickwall techniques, AL-1 is designed around an original peak-control circuit intended to keep the processing musical, responsive and minimally invasive.

Zero Look-Ahead Limiting

One of AL-1’s defining features is its zero-look-ahead design.

Traditional look-ahead limiting analyzes upcoming audio before applying gain reduction. AL-1 takes a different approach, using an original circuit designed for extremely low latency while maintaining weight and articulation.

This makes it useful not only at the final mastering stage but also during mixing and production when responsive processing matters.

Non-Brickwall Architecture

AL-1 also avoids the clipping or wave-shaping stage typically associated with forcing a hard ceiling.

Its non-brickwall architecture is designed to preserve dynamics, detail and dimension instead of simply pushing everything toward maximum loudness.

This approach can be particularly valuable when the goal is a louder master that still feels open and musical.

The Optimizer

The Optimizer is another major part of AL-1.

It combines upward compression with adaptive, release-based makeup gain to bring quieter material forward while increasing perceived loudness without unnecessary coloration.

This gives you another way to approach loudness without depending entirely on increasingly aggressive peak reduction.

Advanced Envelope Control

AL-1’s Mode and Window sections provide control over its dynamic behavior.

The Window approach retroactively reshapes samples around peaks, helping maintain low-end weight, clear transients and natural releases when the limiter is working harder.

Stereo Linking That Understands the Center

Stereo limiting can easily affect the perceived center and width of a mix.

AL-1 uses correlation-based stereo linking to help keep the center image defined while retaining stereo dimension and impact.

Professional Metering

AL-1 includes LUFS, VU and Peak meters, giving you multiple ways to monitor the behavior and loudness of your signal.
