ONRI Audio REISEI – One-Screen Mastering for Mac
A Complete Mastering Chain on a Single Screen
Every mastering session ends at the same question: is this record actually finished? ONRI Audio REISEI was built to answer it fast. It is a complete mastering processor — compressor, saturator, EQ, dynamic EQ, stereo imager and limiter — arranged around one spectrum analyzer, all visible and editable on a single screen. No tabs, no hidden pages, no flipping between plugins to find where the low end went wrong. The debut release from ONRI Audio, REISEI was designed by a working mastering engineer in Japan for his own sessions, and it shows in every decision the interface makes.
What It Is
REISEI is a mastering plugin in the truest sense: a single AU/VST3 that carries a mix from rough bounce to release-ready master. Six processing sections orbit one central spectrum analyzer — compressor, saturator, EQ, DE-DYN dynamic EQ, WIDE stereo imaging, and a master limiter — and the signal path is yours to arrange. Compressor, saturator, EQ and dynamic EQ can be reordered freely, so the chain behaves the way your ears think, not the way a fixed routing diagram dictates.
The Analyzer Is the Control Surface
Most mastering plugins show you a spectrum and make you adjust parameters somewhere else. REISEI throws that out: every band, node and grip lives directly on the spectrum itself. You grab the curve and act on it — pull a node down to tame a resonance, drag a grip to reshape the stereo field, sculpt the saturation response against the actual energy you’re seeing. The translation step between “what I hear is wrong” and “which knob fixes it” disappears.
PARTIAL EQ: Harmonic Surgery
The standout section is PARTIAL EQ, built on additive resynthesis. Instead of carving broad bands, it locks onto a specific harmonic in the signal and follows it as the pitch moves. Found a harsh third harmonic riding every snare hit? Lift it, cut it, or flip it into anti-phase and cancel it outright — with strictly linear behavior that adds no distortion of its own. It is a level of precision that conventional EQs cannot reach, because conventional EQs don’t track pitch. For vocal sibilance, ringing room tones and nasal resonances that move with the performance, PARTIAL EQ is the closest thing to a scalpel the mastering world has.
Honest Loudness, Always
REISEI refuses to let louder fool you into thinking better. The UNITY control auto-compensates output level against input, so every before/after comparison happens at matched loudness — the only comparison that matters. Metering follows ITU-R BS.1770-4: integrated, short-term and momentary loudness, LRA, true peak and PLR, with streaming loudness targets and an APPLY TARGET utility that dials your master to the platform spec in one move. The saturator offers 15 models in five groups with EV/OD even-odd harmonic weighting and a THD readout with peak hold, so you always know exactly how much color you’re buying.
Key Features & Benefits
– Six mastering sections on one screen: compressor, saturator, EQ, DE-DYN dynamic EQ, WIDE stereo imaging, master limiter
– Spectrum analyzer doubles as the control surface — edit bands and nodes directly on the curve
– PARTIAL EQ with additive resynthesis: tracks and reshapes individual harmonics as pitch moves
– Free signal-chain reordering for compressor, saturator, EQ and dynamic EQ
– UNITY level compensation for honest matched-loudness comparisons
– ITU-R BS.1770-4 metering (integrated/short-term/momentary, LRA, true peak, PLR) with streaming targets and APPLY TARGET
– 15 saturation models across five groups, EV/OD harmonic weighting, THD readout with peak hold
– Designed by a mastering engineer for real sessions — no menu-diving, no clutter
Who It’s For
Mastering engineers who want a fast, precise final-stage tool; mix engineers finishing their own records; producers releasing music from a Mac-based home studio; and anyone delivering to streaming platforms who needs loudness compliance without a separate metering suite. If your workflow lives in Logic, Ableton, Cubase or Studio One on Apple Silicon, REISEI slots straight into the master bus.
System Requirements
Important: REISEI runs on macOS 14.0 or later, Apple Silicon only (M1 and later). Intel Macs are not supported, and there is no Windows version yet (a Windows release is planned). Formats: AU and VST3. License is one-time with 3 activations; a 14-day free trial is available from the developer if you want to test it in your own sessions first.
