Description

Rocksolid Audio TEQ-6P — Parametric Valve EQ with Real-Time Circuit Simulation

Most valve EQs claim to capture the sound of classic hardware. The Rocksolid Audio TEQ-6P takes a different — and far more ambitious — path: it doesn’t model a classic valve EQ, it is an analog EQ. Under the hood, every resistor, capacitor, coil, valve and transformer of a real tube equalizer circuit is wired together in software, and your audio runs through that live circuit in real time using advanced SPICE simulation technology, with 0ms-latency processing. The result is not a snapshot of how hardware sounds — it’s the hardware, operating on your mix as you work.

Please note: this download is Mac only. TEQ-6P is available in AU, VST3 and AAX formats for macOS 13 or later (Intel and Apple Silicon).

Every customer receives their own individual license key.

Real-Time Circuit Simulation — Not Modelling

The distinction matters. Conventional “modelled” EQs sample a piece of hardware at various settings, then reconstruct an approximation of its behaviour with filters and saturation curves. It’s an educated impression of the hardware — and impressions flatten out exactly where the interesting behaviour lives: in the interactions between components.

TEQ-6P does away with the impression entirely. Rocksolid Audio built the TEQ-6P as a genuine analog circuit in software: every resistor, capacitor, coil, valve and transformer is individually simulated and wired together, exactly as it would be on a hardware bench. When you turn a knob, you aren’t cross-fading between sampled states — you’re changing a value in a live circuit, and the entire network of components reacts the way real electronics react. The signal flows through this circuit with real-time processing at 0ms latency, so there is no buffering, no lookahead, no compromise in how the EQ responds to transients.

As Rocksolid puts it: “This isn’t an emulation. It’s a simulation.” And the difference is audible. Boost the low end and you don’t just get more bass — you get the valve’s dynamic response to that bass, the transformer loading up, the subtle shifts in harmonic content as the circuit works harder. Cut harshness in the upper mids and the surrounding frequencies bloom with the kind of weight and glow that made engineers fall in love with tube EQs in the first place. This is the behaviour that modelling approximates and simulation delivers.

Six Bands, Three Valves, Three Transformers

The TEQ-6P gives you six fully parametric bands to shape any source, from delicate master-bus tone work to dramatic sound-shaping on individual instruments. But the real personality of the plugin lives in its voicing section.

Three distinct valve styles let you change the fundamental character of the circuit itself. Each valve type brings its own harmonic fingerprint, its own way of responding when pushed, its own flavour of warmth and presence. Swap between them and the entire EQ takes on a different attitude — from silky and forgiving to bold and forward — while the band structure and your settings stay exactly where you put them.

Three transformer styles add another layer of colour. Transformers are where so much of the “weight” of classic hardware comes from: the iron saturating on transients, the low end thickening, the high frequencies taking on a sheen that no static saturation plugin quite reproduces. TEQ-6P’s transformer section is part of the live circuit simulation, so it interacts with the valves and the EQ bands the way real iron interacts with real tubes.

Between three valves and three transformers, you have nine distinct hardware personalities in a single plugin — before you’ve touched a single EQ knob. And because it’s all one simulated circuit, the combinations behave organically rather than stacking like separate effects.

Classic UI or Modern UI — Your Choice, Same Engine

TEQ-6P ships with two complete interfaces, and both run the exact same simulation engine underneath.

The Classic UI is for the purists: knobs, switches and hardware-style controls that invite you to EQ with your ears. No spectrum display to stare at, no numbers to obsess over — just the circuit and your judgement, the way engineers worked when valve EQs were the only option.

The Modern UI brings the workflow up to date: an FFT analyser shows you exactly what the signal is doing, and the EQ bands are grabbable directly in the display for fast, visual shaping. It’s the same circuit, the same sound — just a faster way to get there when you’re working on a deadline.

Switch between the two at any time; your settings carry over. Use Classic when you want to commit and trust your ears, Modern when you need precision and speed.

A Complete Mix and Master Toolkit

  • Six-band parametric EQ with the musical curves of real tube circuitry
  • Auto gain keeps your levels honest, so you can compare before and after without loudness fooling your ears
  • Input/Output Link for perfectly matched gain staging through the circuit
  • Mid/Side processing — widen the air on the sides while keeping the mid solid, or tighten the lows in the center without touching the stereo image
  • L/R processing for independent left/right treatment when a mix needs it
  • Oversampling for the cleanest possible high-frequency behaviour when pushing the circuit
  • FFT display (Modern UI) for visual feedback while you shape
  • RA Hardware Compatible for integration with Rocksolid’s hardware ecosystem

Whether you’re adding sheen to a vocal, weight to a kick, glue to a drum bus, or the final 1–2 dB of tone on a master, TEQ-6P behaves like the hardware it is: forgiving, musical, and impossible to make sound bad with small moves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TEQ-6P available for Windows?
No — this listing is Mac only. Please note: this download is Mac only. It runs on macOS 13 or later on both Intel and Apple Silicon machines, in AU, VST3 and AAX formats.

What makes TEQ-6P different from other valve EQs?
Most valve EQs “model” hardware — they approximate its sound with filters and saturation. TEQ-6P runs a real-time SPICE circuit simulation of an actual analog EQ: every resistor, capacitor, coil, valve and transformer is simulated and wired like real hardware, and your audio passes through that live circuit with 0ms latency.

Can I switch between the Classic and Modern interfaces?
Yes. Both UIs control the same simulation engine, so you can switch at any time and your settings carry over. Use the Classic UI for ears-only, hardware-style work, or the Modern UI with its FFT analyser and grabbable bands for faster visual editing.

Does it work in Mid/Side mode?
Yes — TEQ-6P includes Mid/Side processing as well as L/R processing, making it ideal for mastering tasks like widening the top end or tightening low-end in the center of the stereo image.

What do I get after purchase?
Every customer receives their own individual license key, delivered with your download. This is the standard edition with a single-machine licence.

Will it run on Apple Silicon Macs?
Yes. TEQ-6P supports macOS 13 or later on both Intel and Apple Silicon.
