Sound Particles Density

Turn one voice into a choir and a violin into a string ensemble. Density by Sound Particles is a granular audio effect plugin that creates multiple layers of sound from a single input — using granular synthesis to multiply your voices, then moving them around the sound field with particle-based spatialization. With great results in stereo and fantastic ones in immersive, it’s the fastest way to add width, depth, and life to any track.

Density offers three modes for three levels of control. Basic Mode gets you incredible results with just a few controls: choose a small or large ensemble, dial the detune, optionally add a bass voice an octave below, and you’re done. Detune Mode opens up advanced controls over the grain generation — voices number, voice speed, grain size, grain type (forward or reverse), dynamic range, and position divergence — plus control over the direction of grain movement in the Top View. Pitch Mode (Multipitch) goes further still: multiple groups of voices with individual controls for pitch, number of voices, and gain, letting you harmonize like a choir with the most realistic — and most creative — results.

The grains don’t just sit still. Choose movement patterns to make them travel forward, backward, or across multidimensional spaces, bringing life to static audio with evolving textures. The circular Top View shows your layers moving in 3D space in real time. An XY Pad lets you control two parameters simultaneously with the mouse for expressive, performable sound design, and the randomization tool explores out-of-the-box results instantly.

Density works in every format you mix in: stereo, 5.1, 7.1, Ambisonics (up to 6th order), binaural, and Dolby Atmos up to 7.1.2. Separate control of the input and generated voices makes it easy to automate the generated layers’ gain as part of your musical performance.
