XLN Audio DB-30 Drum Butter

Your Drums Are Better with Butter

XLN Audio DB-30 Drum Butter is a multi-effect plugin built for one job: making drums sound inspired. Instead of chaining five separate plugins to get punch, width and character, DB-30 gives you six colour-coded effect modules — Boom Shack, Shift, Space, Compress, Saturate and More — each with a giant cream macro knob for instant gratification and a deep control panel underneath for precision work.

Six Modules, One Flow

Each of the six modules in XLN Audio DB-30 Drum Butter covers a classic drum-processing stage. Boom Shack shapes the low end with Boom/Shack modes, pitch and decay controls. Shift handles frequency and formant movement with invert and stretch. Space is the dimension module — booth-style ambience with pre-delay, ducking and pan/width. Compress offers Punch, Warm, Glue, Gentle, Smack and OTT flavours. Saturate brings Console, Tape, Tube, Digital and 4-Track colour. And More is the wild card: x1/x2/x4 intensity stages for when subtle isn’t the brief.

Macro Knobs for Speed, Panels for Depth

The genius of the XLN Audio DB-30 Drum Butter workflow is its two layers. Need a fatter snare in ten seconds? Grab the big Compress macro knob and turn it up. Want to fine-tune? Open the module and dial Punch versus Warm, adjust the Down/Up balance, set the band focus. The MAGNITUDE slider scales the whole chain’s intensity, and the preset system (including the signature “Better With Butter” preset) gives you starting points that actually sound finished.

Mix-Ready Drum Bus

The bottom strip covers the essentials every drum bus needs: Input gain, EQ, Cut filter, Tone, Air, Attack, Sustain, Clip and Output. It’s a complete drum channel in one window — shape the transient, add the air, glue it together, and get back to the song.

Why Producers Love It

XLN Audio built its name on Addictive Drums, and DB-30 carries the same philosophy: professional results without menu-diving. At 4.8 out of 5 from 80+ user ratings, it’s one of the best-reviewed drum plugins of the year — and at 61% off the official $129 price, it’s the cheapest way to get that XLN drum polish on every track.
