Almost every analog-flavoured EQ on the market is built the same way underneath: a clean digital filter produces the curve, and a saturation stage placed after it supplies the colour. The two are independent. Change the drive and the curve stays where it was; change the curve and the saturation behaves identically.
Real inductor-based equalisers do not work like that. The filter and the non-linearity are the same components, so the response moves as the circuit is driven.
